Sandra Leveson established her reputation in the late 1960s with abstract paintings that explored issues of colour. Her work of the last few years, exhibited at the Peter Pinson Gallery in 2008 for the first time as a group, relates to visits Sandra Leveson made to imposing lake-and-mountain landscapes in Scotland and the South Island of New Zealand, and also to majestic rock escarpments in central Australia.
