If one needs to discuss the thematic concerns of Rick Amor's latest exhibition, the talk would invariably be of urban decay; the terminal; the metaphoric and literal end of the road. These powerful paintings may be dark, but how else would we want Amor to express the sombre underbelly of the city's soul? Yet look hard enough and there is light, a glimmer of enduring life, a sense of the continuing prevalence of the human condition.
