Born in New Zealand in 1976 and University educated in northern New South Wales, Tupou's use of high-key colour and almost industrial materials - underlain with the patterns of traditional Tongan tapa designs - can be found in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; Cairns Regional Gallery, Cairns; and Centre of Contemporary Art, Cairns.
