artwhatson.com.au is an online art space for all types of artists and galleries, from emerging to established. Our e-news delivers a weekly snapshot of what's happening in Australian art. Find out more about artwhatson.
How do I subscribe to your exhibition e-news?
Click here, or use the Subscribe link at the foot of this page.
Can I buy art directly from the website?
No, we simply connect people who like art with artists and galleries. Click the Enquire/Purchase link on the relevant page to make direct contact with the artist or gallery.
I scrolled through and couldn't find my favourite artist, why aren't they listed on artwhatson?
All of the artists on artwhatson have been listed through a gallery or have contacted us and created an artist site of their own. To have your art listed on artwhatson, click here.
Can I search for works according to price?
Yes. You can search by price, genre, keyword, location and other criteria. We are reliant on our Artist and Gallery members to keep this information up to date.
How do I place a free listing in the exhibition e-news?
art etcetera is your link to happenings and opportunities in the art world. Separate to published exhibitions, our favourite art etcetera submissions are handpicked for listing in the e-news and on the site. We don't promote exhibitions in art etcetera - to have your show included in the weekly e-news and on the site, join artwhatson.

What is the deadline to submit arts related info to art etcetera?
Contributions to art etcetera need to be submitted by midday on Wednesday to be considered for inclusion in Thursday's e-news.

You can display up to 100 images on your artwhatson artist site.

How can I be featured as artist of the week in the e-news?
Our weekly artist feature is chosen to reflect artwhatson's commitment to variety, quality and interest. Please feel free to contact us with a suggestion.
Does artwhatson take commission from sales made through the site?
No, we never take commission. Buyers contact you directly through your artist site.
Why can't I see my exhibition listed in the e-news?
The e-news automatically captures your exhibition for Forthcoming when it is three weeks away, and in Current once the show begins. Still can't see your exhibition? You might not have taken it online. Login, select the exhibition and tick the Online box.
Is there a limit to how often I can appear in the e-news?
Yes. Artists with a 1 year site can have up to 2 exhibitions per year in the e-news. Artists with a 3 month site can have 1 exhibition during that period displayed in the e-news. Free trial and monthly memberships are not eligible for the e-news. If your exhibition is current, and eligible, it will be published automatically in the e-news. You do not have to do anything.
How do I direct people to my artwhatson artist site?
Your artwhatson site has its own unique address (url) - eg. www.artwhatson.com.au/joanmiro. You can also arrange to ‘point' your own address (eg www.joanmiro.com) to your artwhatson site.
Can I track who visits my artwhatson site?
Yes, our statistics package will be online in April 2010.

What does membership include?
A gallery site includes up to 50 exhibition pages, 50 artist pages and 5,000 images. Your forthcoming and current exhibitions are automatically included in the e-news every week. artwhatson is search engine optimised and we never take commission on sales - enquiries and buyers are sent directly to you.

How do I set up my site?
You can create a site on artwhatson as an artist, one off group show or gallery.

Setting up is quick and easy – there are instructions as you go. Problems? Questions? Contact us.
How many images can I display on my website?
Artist sites can display up to 100 images.

Gallery sites have the capacity to display 50 exhibition pages and 50 artist pages – 5,000 images in total.

Group Show sites can display up to 100 images.
How do I upload an image?
It's as easy as attaching a file to an email. 1.Login 2. Select the relevant location 3. Select Add new work 4. Select one or multiple image files 5. Tick the Upload icon
What size and format do images need to be?
We recommend a maximum file upload of no more than 5MB (5,000 KB). Acceptable file formats are: .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe
Can I upload more than one image at a time?
Absolutely! Artwhatson allows you to load many images at once, though we recommend around 10 at a time as a practical maximum.
Can I edit or crop an image once I have uploaded it?
Yes, you can go back and edit or crop both your large and thumbnail images after they have been loaded.
Can I update content anytime?
Yes, anytime. Just login and make your changes.
Do I need any special software to load content on artwhatson?
No special software is required to load content on artwhatson. Everything is done through the internet.
I've loaded everything, why isn't my site appearing online?
You need to take your site online to make it publically visible. Once logged in, select Home, tick Online and select Update.
I've loaded an exhibition/series, why isn't it appearing online?
You need to take an exhibition online to make it publically visible. Once logged in, select the Exhibition and tick Online.
How do I renew or extend my account?
You can extend your account yourself online. Login to your account and select Home. Here you can view your site expiry date and extend your account by credit card. Problems? Prefer to pay over the phone? Please email or give us a call.
My site has expired – how do I renew?
If your site has gone offline you need to contact us. Please email or call us to arrange renewal.
I've forgotten my password – what do I do?
