Through abstraction and figuration, Richard Dunn's work engages with the Fibonacci sequence, which appears throughout nature - in the branching of trees, the uncurling of ferns, the arrangement of a pine cone and the spiral in shells. In the relationship of mathematics to the physical world, abstraction can provide a parallel visual experience in mediating the affects of nature.
