Comings and goings
Comings and Goings is an allegorical portrayal of solitary man in a transient environment. Jenkins takes us on a journey through Melbourne's iconic Flinders St. Station and Parliament Station, the underpass, the subway and the Royal Arcade. Eerie, harlequinesque subways 'possessing a haunted air, as if existing solely to inhabit the border that separates real and pictorial space' (Weiss on Rothko) invite the viewer to construct their own stories and interpretations.
